We are a group of twelve teenagers, who have set up this campaign, Perception, in an effort to illustrate that the media do not fairly portray adolescents. We strongly believe that young people have a role to play in ensuring the prosperity of their communities. We feel that teenagers, such as ourselves, are best able to make an impact to our society as we possess both the time and energy necessary to do so.
Our aim is to challenge the stereotypes ascribed to young people. We believe that the media does adolescents a great injustice through portraying us as unruly delinquents. We wish to show the public that teenagers are a valuable asset to their communities and that, together, we can make our society a better place.
